Recipe: Strawberry Tarts

Strawberry tarts is an amazing, easy to prepare, fresh fruit last course meal. It is very popular in Scotland and most parts of Europe, but not so much in the US. You don’t have to stress much for you to get this done because it is super easy to prepare. Strawberry tart is a combination of a pie crust and fillings consisting of sweet strawberry cream cheese with a hint of lemon. The trick is to make the pastry shells (crust) before-hand, so whenever you need to eat a strawberry tart it is prepared effortlessly.

Ingredients

For the pastry

  • 110g cold butter.
  • 200g plain flour.
  • 65g caster sugar.
  • ¼ teaspoon fine salt.

For the fillings

  • 200ml whipped cream.
  • 2 teaspoon icing sugar.
  • 200g whole-milk yoghurt.
  • 500g ripe strawberries.

Instruction

For the pastry

  • Roll out the pastry and cut a little more than the mold you wish to use, and press gently into the mold until tarts are made.
  • Prick the bottom of the pastry with a fork tines too prevent bubbles.
  • Bake at 375º for until slightly golden brown in color. It can’t be stored in a week for up to a week.

For the fillings

  • Fill the base of the crisp with whipped cream.
  • Place a strawberry(s) on it depending on desired size.
  • Next cover the strawberry(s) with glaze and your strawberry tarts is ready.
  • Now for the last and most important step. Time to eat your ravishing creation.

Preservation

Strawberry tarts can be stored in the refrigerator for a whole day. Fresh fruit such as strawberries do not freeze so you should avoid leaving it in the refrigerator for too long.
